This beautifully crafted Karimba (also known as a kalimba, Mbira or Thumb Piano) is hand made from half a coconut shell with a beautiful wooden face, elaborately hand painted with bright colors using a traditional Aboriginal dot painting method. Metal keys are suspended above the acoustic chamber and when plucked with the fingers or thumbs make a delightfully rich sound. This gorgeous mbira is great for use as a decoration, and makes a great educational gift for children. It measures approximately 6 3/4 inches in diameter, 2 1/2 inches high. NOTE: Because these are hand-carved and made from natural coconuts, there may be differences in design, colors and pattern from the one pictured.
