This is a dream catcher with a Mandala hanging on the bottom of the catcher. The design is of a Beautiful Indian Girl Holding a Wolf Pup. There is a Grey wolf standing in the background. There are pieces of suede with feathers and decorative beads hanging from the catcher. The dimensions of the top dream catcher is approximately 13" in diameter. The bottom Mandala dimensions are 5" in diameter. Total length when hanging from top holder to the bottom feathers is approximately 28" in length. A mandala is a geometric pattern or chart, typically circular or square, that symbolically represents the cosmos and is used for meditation purposes. The resulting "dream-catcher", hung above the bed, is used as a charm to protect sleeping people, usually children, from nightmares. The Ojibwa believe that a Dream Catcher changes a person's dreams. "Only good dreams would be allowed to filter through… Bad dreams would stay in the net, disappearing with the light of day." Good dreams would pass through and slide down the feathers to the sleeper.
