About this item: A headdress of floral petals crowns a queen from ancient Javanese dance drama. Golden foil embellishes her serene features in a beautiful mask designed by Nenny Lukhita. Carved by hand, it stands on an iron rod on a mahogany base. The elaborate crown is crafted from hand-beaten copper. - Some assembly required - Hand-crafted item -- color, size and/or motif may vary slightly About our Artist: Nenny Lukhita recalls, 'Though I was born in Sulawesi, I grew up in Bali. As a child, I became fascinated by the traditional 'wayang' puppet theater performances. It was the only form of entertainment we had at the time, since TV hadn't arrived in Bali yet. One day, I saw a book on Javanese terracotta figurines from the Majapahit Period and was immediately captivated. I began creating my own collection of Majapahit puppets. Today, our puppets and dolls have become famous throughout Indonesia.'
